ROLAND BERGER READING ROOM
The International Cultural Centre (ICC) is located in Krakow's historic old city. On April 20, 2007, the cornerstone was laid for modernizing the ICC's annex. The upgrade included building the "Roland Berger Reading Room", a multimedia reading room on the third floor of the ICC library. Now readers can not only access the 20,000 books and periodicals in the library but also use the latest technology to search online catalogs and international databases.
The ICC aims to maintain Europe's cultural heritage, encourage intercultural cooperation and dialog, support the arts and ensure that historical buildings are protected. In pursuit of these goals, the Centre organizes conferences, research projects and exhibitions, and issues publications. In addition, the Centre regularly invites guest speakers from other countries to Krakow and is involved in a variety of European initiatives. Each summer, the ICC organizes seminars for young scientists. The topics discussed include multiculturalism in Europe and the transformation process in the former Eastern Bloc.
Since 2001, the ICC has offered a post-graduate program in cooperation with the Malopolska School of Public Administration at the Krakow University of Economics. The two-year interdisciplinary program ("Academy of Heritage") addresses the maintenance and protection of cultural heritage.

The very building the ICC is located in has a rich cultural history. In 1842, two medieval houses located on Krakow's main market square were converted to create the "Ravens House". At first, the building was residential, and it later housed a bank. After 1945, it served as the headquarters for a number of youth organizations. The ICC has been housed in the building since 1991. The Centre contains seminar, exhibition and conference rooms in addition to a library containing a wealth of publications, primarily on cultural topics. Renovations on the building began in 1998, and work on the main building was completed in 2006. The annex building has now been expanded and the library augmented with the "Roland Berger Reading Room".
